George Washington Carver

January 1, 1864 - January 5, 1943

Maverick - George Washington Carver
“Well, someday I will have to leave this world. And when that day comes, I want to feel that my life has been of some service to my fellow man."

George Washington Carver was the guy known for his nuts.. peanuts that is.

Born into slavery in Diamond Grove, Mississippi, this Maverick innovator invented over 300 peanut products from ice creams to laxatives(which for some is the same thing). His inventions had such a profound economic effect of the rural south.

What was even more Maverick about George Washington Carver was his love for humanity. He only patented 3 of his inventions.

In 1917 he stated:

“Well, someday I will have to leave this world. And when that day comes, I want to feel that my life has been of some service to my fellow man."

George Washington Carver was a Maverick Innovator.

He consistently lived his life for the greater purpose of humanity, while developing some groundbreaking innovations. For that his legacy shines bright and will always be remembered as one of the greatest inventors of all time.

One lesson we take from his life is to live to your intended purpose and think of your fellow man/woman.

Mav Fact: George Washington Carver kept it real. He even turned down a six-figure job offer from Thomas Edison.

What would you do, if you could DO YOU?
